Nick is a widely recognized expert in impact, process, and market research studies. Nick has worked in the energy and energy related fields since 1978 and brings a broad range of experience to working with organizations and agencies involved in research, marketing, and evaluation. Early in his career, he managed market and energy products research projects for the Illinois Department of Energy and Natural Resources. He directed research for the Illinois Energy Efficient Procurement Program, designed and directed energy services evaluation research for US Department of Energy programs and conducted management and operational studies for the department when he served as the agency's Senior Management Operations Analyst. He also managed the development and implementation of the Illinois Alcohol Fuels Program.
In 1992, Nick joined Hagler, Bailly Consulting in Madison, Wisconsin, as a Senior Manager. In this capacity he planned, directed, managed, and conducted $4.5 million worth of evaluation and market research on energy products, programs and services for Hagler, Bailly. He also served as an advisor to Consumer Energy's energy program research activities. From 1994 to 1995 Nick served as a full-time contractor for Consumer Energy’s energy research activities, planning, and implementing research on a wide range of energy programs and services.
Nick was the original founder and is currently a member and corporate agent for the International Energy Program Evaluation Conference. This 501(c)(3) conference presents energy services evaluation studies and provides training to energy service research professionals with specific tracks focused on energy markets and products. He was also the founder and publisher of ENR Targets, a monthly energy services marketing newsletter. In this capacity he conducted and published highly respected and often cited works on the behavior of energy markets and the impacts of energy products and services on customers and product markets. Very early in his career, Nick’s work as an energy efficiency researcher won him a Recommendation to the Congress and the President as having the most innovative energy analysis program in the United States. He has served on a wide number of boards, panels, and committees pertaining to energy services research. Nick holds a BA in Biological Science and an MA in Environmental Science, both from the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Patrick
M. McCarthy, Ph.D., J.D., is a Principal with TecMarket Works. His
national program evaluation and market effects projects include the
seminal federal study of State Energy Programs’ impact on energy
efficiency and renewable energy capacity, and serving on the executive
team managing USDOE’s ARRA stimulus investment in state energy programs.
Patrick is also a Professor of Industrial/Organizational Psychology at
Middle Tennessee State University, and served as Executive Director of the
Center for Organizational and Human Resource Effectiveness. His
extensive consulting experience includes organizational development,
leadership, training, performance management, and program evaluation. He
is also a licensed attorney.

Ms. Roth is a Certified Project Manager and evaluation consultant with TecMarket Works and has eight
years of experience in energy program evaluation, low-income program evaluation, and in the field of non-energy benefits
research, and a total of fifteen years of focusing on energy efficiency
and renewable energy through both work and academia. Ms. Roth has led and conducted arrearage and impact studies, primarily using analytical tools such as SPSS and PRISM™,
and regularly conducts process evaluations for the firm's clients. Ms. Roth’s Masters degree is in Land Resources with a graduate level certificate in
Energy Analysis and Policy from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Prior to entering graduate school, she worked with the Midwest Renewable Energy Association,
starting her career off with a broad range of skills and knowledge in the energy field. Her BS degree is in Public Administration and Policy Analysis with minors in Natural Resource Management and Economics from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, where she graduated with honors in 1997. She
has been the treasurer of the Association of Energy Service Professionals, Wisconsin
Chapter since 2003, and is the founder and registrar of a community garden on
Madison's east side.
Brian

Brian
holds Masters degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the
University of Wisconsin – Madison, graduating on the Dean’s Honor List
in 2009. Brian has been with TecMarket Works since 2008, providing
engineering support with an emphasis on energy impact analysis. Using the
DOE2 building energy use simulation engine, Brian performs detailed
comparative analyses of building designs and technologies in order to
predict the energy use and cost for new and existing construction. Through
these simulations, he quantifies the energy impacts of energy efficiency
programs and advises on energy strategy and future program design. Brian
also conducts interviews and analyzes data for program evaluation,
building and maintaining information databases for the purpose of
performing Cost Effectiveness Tests and generating summary reports.

John is the manager of surveys for TecMarket Works. He supervises
our survey staff, readies survey data for process and/or impact analysis,
and performs interviews with trade allies for process evaluations.
John uses his journalistic skills in writing and interviewing to help make
TecMarket Works’ evaluation reports accurate, relevant and compelling.
John obtained his bachelors of science degree in English from the University
of Wisconsin – Madison
in 2004. From 2004 to 2008 he was a reporter for the Wisconsin State
Journal in Madison. He has received both statewide and national awards for
his writing and currently nurtures his creative side by playing guitar and
penning rock and roll songs.

Mary is the Office Manager and Support Services Manager for the office of TecMarket Works. She is responsible for all office operations and environmental conditions. Mary provides support services to the professional research staff and is a key member of the research team and insures the timely production of all deliverables to clients.
