Product Development and Evaluation

Product identification is a challenge for all companies. What products should be offered, when, under what conditions, at what price, and what can be expected from the competition? TecMarket Works has worked with clients to identify products and services that they might offer. We have used surveys, interviews, focus groups, Delphi studies, concept analysis, and information from demographic and firmographic databases to help customers identify their mix of products and services. TecMarket Works has co-authored a book for the Association of Energy Service Professionals in which we authored the chapter on "Identifying Products and Services." 

TecMarket Works helps clients develop and fine-tune their products and services to meet the changing demands of the energy and technologies markets. Deregulation, competition, technology advances, and evolving markets all make the task of developing products and services a paramount concern for companies wanting to hold or capture market share. Product evaluation is a fairly broad concept that includes several different types of evaluation: concept testing, prototype evaluation, product testing, market evaluation, and market acceptance. TecMarket Works has done extensive evaluation of day lighting controls, occupancy sensors, air conditioning management, and water heater management, and we have real knowledge about how people use systems. As you develop more products and services that may influence customer's lifestyles, you need a better idea how the customers will respond.
